I’m a freelance writer based in Sydney, and this blog is a collection of my articles, stories, ideas, some previously unpublished material and the occasional non sequitur. You may notice some differences between the articles here and their originally published versions—that’s because I don’t cope well with typos and I can’t help editing my work when I read it again.

I’m editor of Booktopia’s Romance Buzz newsletter and host of the Heart to Heart podcast for Destiny Romance, an imprint of Penguin Australia. I have written for Books+Publishing, and in 2014 my essay, ‘Dear columnists, romance fiction is not your bitch’, won the Romance Media Award. I have been interviewed for 2SER, The Big Issue and the (sydney) magazine.  I have presented at events run by the City of Sydney Library, Woollahra Library, Romance Writers of Australia, and Book Expo Australia, and I’m an active member of the Australian Romance Readers Association.

My personal projects include Book Thingo, an Aussie book blog with a romance focus, and if you want to check how a book ends, try Kill a fairy. I have a more introspective Tumblr at Delicious Burdens. My latest project is Trousseau, a fan zine for people who love reading romance books.  When not blogging, I can be found loitering on Twitter
